Following last year’s visit to BST Hyde Park Heather and I returned this year. Sadly this year conflicted with the World Cup and, specifically, an England quarter final match. The organisers having made the stupefying decision not to screen the match meant while Heather headed to enjoy the full day of music I spent most of the support acts in a pub just down the road.

Way back in my youth there was a little band called Nirvana, who gained quite the following. There was a bloke in that who was just the drummer at the back. He ended up with his own band, possibly the biggest rock band in the world. The Foo Fighters came to London and, unlike the venue1 were awesome.
Photos are mainly terrible due to being about a zillion miles from the stage, but hey, I was there!

















Openreach, the communications firm who actually have all the telephone network and aren’t quite BT are “Sorry for the long wait” and “Will answer my call as soon as possible”. I know this because they tell me every 20 seconds. For the ten minutes I’ve waited so far…again…

So it was supposed to be the pub quiz on but it was cancelled. So I took my own, knocked up with the aid of a couple of quiz books in a couple of hours. For the heck of it I thought I’d add it here.

Following last year’s trip to Whitstable for dinner this year Heather’s mum gifted her and I an entire night in the quaint old town of Rye. So saw us decamp for a couple of days to explore. While Whitstable offered the sea Rye, despite being a Cinque Port, no longer does—the sea having receded away from it. Nor, despite my insistence on referring to the song, were there ever seven seas. Still, it was a nice place to visit, even if there was only a brief burst of Sun.
