Science Museum Wanderings

I recently had to use up some leave and so had a week off work. Unfortunately maintenance to the drains where I live meant I had to be out of home for the first day. Fortunately this give a chance to head for the Science Museum

Single Atom in an Ion Trap

Back when I used to play with an STM I used to get quite excited when sixth formers came around, showing them individual atoms appearing in a scan (probably of a Si 7×7 reconstruction). This is probably as close as that to really seeing an atom. Cool stuff.
