A glorious took Heather and I to the centre of London and Hyde Park, there to see a one day festival of music, BST Hyde Park.
We were there early and so the crowds were still quite thinly spaced when The Strypes took to the main stage as the first band. They were entertaining and got us tapping away and rocking.
The site is quite large, with a number of stages. Wandering around early doors was fine, but by the time some of the later bands were on the smaller stages the place was so crowded we couldn’t muster the effort to lose our spot and go find them, which was a bit sad. So we had the main stage to entertain us. The Mystery Jets were mysterious to us but quite entertaining.
Cold War Kids did nothing for us but Tears For Fears were an enjoyable blast from youth.
I’ve never been certain of Elbow and listening to their set it seems I only really like two of their songs. The main event was the The Killers though, headlining the sold out day. There are definitely more than two of their songs I will sing along to. As the sun set they rocked us before a firework conclusion left us heading home smiling, and meaning it.
